A Black-Tie Boston Public Library Wedding
Every so often a wedding captures the full elegance of Boston, and Jenny and Eddy’s was exactly that. Picture classic black-tie style with modern touches, a candlelit reception at the Boston Public Library, and a ceremony steeped in Boston College tradition. The whole evening blended grand architecture, glowing candlelight, and custom lighting into something warm, romantic, and unforgettable. I’m Nicole Perfetuo of The Perfet Photo, and photographing this black-tie Boston celebration was a dream.
The Proposal in Nantucket
Eddy planned the proposal for the anniversary of their first date. He surprised Jenny with a getaway to Nantucket, one of their favorite places. After a dinner at Galley Beach, he got down on one knee. The best part? Family and friends had secretly traveled in to celebrate the whole weekend together. It was personal, joyful, and surrounded by the people they love most.
A Rehearsal Dinner at the Boston Harbor Hotel
The celebration began the night before at the Boston Harbor Hotel. With its waterfront setting and iconic arch, it’s one of the most elegant spots in the city for a rehearsal dinner. It was the perfect way to gather both families on the water before the big day.
A Meaningful Ceremony at Boston College
Jenny and Eddy exchanged vows at St. Ignatius Parish on the Boston College campus. The ceremony was deeply personal. Eddy’s former football chaplain performed the Mass, a beautiful nod to the couple’s shared connection to the school. That kind of detail is what makes a wedding feel like a true reflection of the people at the center of it.
An Elegant Reception at the Boston Public Library
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Boston Public Library for a reception that was pure candlelit elegance. If you’ve never seen a wedding reception at the Boston Public Library, picture soaring architecture and old-world grandeur. The design centered on white florals with lush greenery, layered with candlelight and custom lighting. Together they transformed the library into a glowing, romantic setting. Guests enjoyed an elevated, synchronized dining experience by The Catered Affair, paired with signature cocktails and a beautiful multi-tiered cake.
The Fashion
Jenny wore a stunning gown from Flair Boston for the ceremony. It was timeless, elegant, and perfectly suited to the grand setting. Later in the night, she surprised guests with a chic second look. Her sparkling, modern gown brought a burst of glamour to the black-tie evening. Eddy and his groomsmen kept things sharp in classic black tuxedos, and the bridesmaids echoed the formal aesthetic in sleek black gowns.
The Details That Made It Unforgettable
The little touches are what I always remember, and this wedding had some standouts. An electric violinist filled the library with music during dinner, bringing incredible energy to the room. Eddy’s best man was his best friend and former teammate, Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon. And Jenny’s outfit change, from a timeless ceremony gown to a sparkling second look, perfectly captured the blend of classic and modern that defined the whole night.
