Originally, Justine and Adam married at a destination wedding in tropical Jamaica. While their intimate ceremony abroad fulfilled all their dreams for their nuptial exchange, this couple decided they wanted to honor this new chapter with some fun wedding portraits back at home. As a result, they reached out to me with an original, inspired idea to take photos aboard a sailboat!
We climbed into Starlight for a sunset cruise in the Newport waters. She was the ideal vessel! In fact, she has a rich history of romance, having been the site of numerous proposals! To launch our evening together, we popped a bottle of champagne and headed out towards the Newport Bridge. The sailboat was adorned in stunning floral arrangements from a Bushel and a Peck. The delicate floral arrangements in soft pastels beautifully complimented the coastal neutrals Justine and Adam chose to wear. The crisp palette played beautifully with the sunlit waters. The resulting portfolio is airy and nautical. Justine’s delicate, wind-blown white gown was the perfect touch to their inspired shoot. Their delicate smiles and intimate embrace made each moment so tender under the golden light of a fading summer day.
Naturally, these sailboat wedding portraits were so dreamy and unique. The soft colors, stunning florals, and calm waters made for a fairytale setting. Celebrating with Justine and Adam was so sentimental. I love supporting newlyweds as they continue to bask in the excitement of a new, unfolding chapter of their love story and this was no exception. Choosing a sentimentally-significant location for portraits without the time restraint of a bustling wedding day enabled us to capture their vision and dedicate ourselves fully to making magic. It was such a pleasure to work with this sweet couple, and I am in love with the ethereal effect of their stunning newlywed portraits.
