Photography is about so much more than capturing a perfect pose or the right lighting. When working with people as the subject of your photos, it is vital to understand one another and to develop a strong working relationship. For me, this means working to understand exactly what the couple in front of my lens envisions, which is why I work with each of my clients to cultivate the right image — literally. This is particularly important while capturing their most intimate and significant moments and accomplishments. For example, it is important to know if a couple wants a modern engagement session or if a bride wants a soft, romantic boudoir session.
When this bride contacted me, she expressed that she was a fan of editorials, and classic black and white images. Drawing from my experience in that style, we chose to take our photos in downtown Providence, and, to dial up the drama! This couple simply oozed luxury and flair, choosing to add luxurious details like champagne and a long veil, and their own timeless black and white style. The result was a sleek, modern engagement session full of drama and luxury.

We took the photos at the Biltmore garage, opting for rooftop views of the city. Afterwards, we walked the cobblestone paths along the rivers of Providence, notorious for WaterFire, and ended our photo shoot in front of the state house.
We had so much fun playing with the monochrome color palette and iconic urban scenes to create dynamic, timeless moments in each of their images. It was such a pleasure getting to know these two and I am looking forward to celebrating their love at their upcoming 2024 wedding!
