S and J’s maritime wedding spoke to the rich culture of Rhode Island. Fittingly, they opted for a waterfront ceremony site along the Narragansett Bay. However, the Blithewold offers so much more than a bayside view. The historic summer estate has meticulously maintained greenery and gardens throughout the property. In fact, the venue’s smaller gardens made for the perfect opportunity to sneak away for a few stolen moments alone with the bride and groom. Whimsical stonework, blossoming flowers, and gorgeous greenery made for romantic, enchanting backdrops. As sunlight peaked through the shrubbery, the moments we spent taking portraits in the garden felt like walking through the pages of a fairytale.
Each detail of this special day was enchanting. The reception tent was even made of cloth from a sail! Nods to the legacy of this Rhode Island site such as this were woven in throughout the day and contributed to the classic feel of S and J’s wedding day. It felt as if the rich history of their venue was meeting the promising future of this couple in the most magical way! Their sweet, soft romance and subtle detailing made for the perfect compliments to this summertime garden wedding. It was such an honor to help capture each moment of this special day.
